Quarterly Online Contests

Every quarter, McKinney Plein Air Society members will have the opportunity to enter their work in a seasonal themed online contest.

Themes:

March 20 - June 20 Spring Fever
June 21 - Sept. 21 Skies of Summer
Sept. 22 - Dec. 20. Autumn Color
Dec. 21 - March 19 Winter Chill
All year - Jan. 11 Stars at Night (nocturne painting)

The upload deadline for each contest is the last day of the painting period at 11:59 p.m. The artists may paint year round for the January 11 deadline of the nocturne painting challenge.

Rules

Artist must be a member of the McKinney Plein Air Society need to join or renew? JOIN HERE
Paintings submitted must be created on location.

Work must be original.
Work must capture the spirit of the contest theme.
Work must not be painted in the studio from a study.
Work done 80% on location may be finished or touched up in the studio.
- Working from photographs or copying from the internet is not acceptable. Work must not violate copyright laws.
Work must not be painted under the guidance of an instructor.
Work must be painted during the specified contest period.
Any medium is allowed.
Each artist may submit ONE entry per contest.
There is no entry fee.

MPAS reserves the right to reproduce accepted artwork for publicity and promotional purposes.

How to Upload

How to upload items to Google Photos from your browser:

On your computer, open photos.google.com.
Click on the Add Photos icon at the top right.
On the next page, click on Select from Computer at the top right.
Find and select your photos.
Click Open and your photo should load.

You can also drag photos from your computer to the album to upload them to Google Photos. If you drag a photo to a specific album, the photo will be uploaded to that album.

If you have problems with Google, send your image to npleinr@gmail.com and it will be uploaded for you.
